Common Questions

Every Journey Starts With a Single Step...
Step 6 -Install Underlayment and Liner

  • Check the excavated pond for sharp objects, such as roots or rocks that may damage the liner.
  • Unfold the underlayment and place it into your excavated pond.
  • The underpayment comes in a maximum width of 15', for larger ponds simply cut and lay sections of underlayment throughout the excavated area.
  • Starting from the bottom of the pond, work the underlayment into all of the shelves and plant pockets.
  • Proceed one shelf at a time until you've reached the top shelf.

Liner

  • Unfold and install the Aquascapes' EPDM fish safe liner on top of the underlayment.
  •  The installation process is the same as the underlayment, starting at the bottom and contouring the liner up and out of the pond.
  • Try to get the large folds out, but the main goal is to make sure that the liner is lying flat and going into all corners. This should take 10 minutes. (Double check that you have enough liner around all your edges).
